Latinas en Poder
Latinas en Poder General Assembly 2023 in Guatemala was a Total Success!
Movement Building: Healing. Sustainability. Power.
Our Journey with Our Ancestral Healers Network
Our EXPOMujeres was a resounding success! Over 30% of our members drive community sustainability through social solidarity, feminist-cooperative initiatives, and mutualist economies. Member organizations proudly showcased their products at our General Assembly in Guatemala and shared their impactful experiences. Moyután Credit Union joined the EXPO to promote its financial services and educate participants, while the MiCoope Federation of Credit Unions of Guatemala provided valuable sponsorship for the project.
Building Political Power
Reimagine and transform societies where women and girls are truly equal, unshackled, and empowered to lead lives of freedom, autonomy, and boundless opportunity.

Latinas en Poder was born out of our collective concerns for the devastating realities faced by Latina immigrant women during the COVID-19 pandemic. Increasing deaths, poverty, and violence against women and girls were central to the conversations we held with Latinas across the United States. From these dialogues, it became clear that we needed to act. We initiated a process to engage and organize Latina organizations in the U.S., creating spaces for collaboration, reflection, and resistance.
A Redefined Strategic Vision Towards Transnationalism
During former Vice President Kamala Harris's visit to Guatemala in 2021, we decided to establish a permanent dialogue and take action on the root causes of migration with sister organizations in our countries of origin.
(To learn more about this process, please review the Transnational Summit Declaration under the Programs and Vehicles section).
